Wellness Resources Resources for Living Pure Inspiration What will your last lecture be?

if you knew you were going to die, what would your "Last Lecture" be?

Dr. Randy Pausch has since passed away and this is HIS last lecture on "Life and childhood dreams and how to achieve them."

Randy Pausch set the tone at his farewell lecture at Carnegie Mellon University. "If I don't seem as depressed or morose as I should be, sorry to disappoint you," said Dr. Pausch. The 46-year-old computer science professor and father of three preschoolers has incurable pancreatic cancer. Doctors had given him months to live. Yet, standing at the podium in McConomy Auditorium, Randy Pausch did not focus on impending death. Instead, he celebrated the chance he had been given to live the life he always had dreamed of.

His last thoughts:

  • Always dream
  • People are more important than things
  • Brick walls are to show us how much we want something
  • Choose to have fun, today, tomorrow, and everyday you have left.
  • Work and play well with others
  • Live with integrity
  • Tell the truth
  • When you screw up apologize
  • Say, I'm sorry, it was my fault, how do I make it right
  • No one is pure evil, if you wait long enough, they will show you their good side
  • Be patient
  • Show gratitude
  • Play the game hard
  • Care to make someone better

As a life coach, I frequently work with clients by examining the end of life as a means of uncovering how to live life more fully. What will you choose to do with your life?

If you live your life the right way, your dreams will come to you -- Dr. Randy Pausch
